WELCOME to my world
of poetry.
I have been writing
for years now - poetry, prose and music.
A year ago, I was asked if I would write something personal for my cousin
and her husband to be.
I adore challenges, and with some very brief notes on the characteristics,
quirks and habitual goings-on of my cousin and her fiancé (whom I had
met just the once), I created an unforgettable gift that will last forever
in their memories, their wedding video and upon their living room wall.
I read the poem midway between their wedding vows - and with the seriousness
and tears that these events bring, found that it broke the tension and
relaxed everyone present - with laughter, romantic gestures and crazy
tales.
That special day gave
me the idea to begin writing for all sorts of occasions.
A personalised poem
will last longer than a bunch of flowers, a box of chocolates or a telephone
call. It can be read over and over and cherished for years.
